Capital Appreciation
The Capital Appreciation Strategy is our cornerstone and most popular strategy. Designed as one of the first ETF-only portfolios in the country, this strategy was originally created based on the stringent criteria of charitable foundations. These criteria, along with other SCS designed proprietary techniques, offer an attractive risk/reward process for portfolio management.
The investment universe for the Capital Appreciation Strategy includes virtually all Domestic and International Exchange Traded Funds, a sizable group of carefully screened Closed End Funds, and, where appropriate, Tax Free Municipal Bond Closed End Funds. We also use inverse indexes and sectors to hedge or benefit from a declining market or sector.
Our selection process includes screening for technical behavior, position size, correlation to the overall portfolio, and several other factors we have designed over the years for use specifically with ETFs.
